Portuguese defender Gonçalo Inácio, of Sporting de Portugal, has been linked with FC Barcelona according to the Portuguese channel Now Canal. Inácio, 24 years old and 1.85 meters tall, was on the bench in the Sporting match against Alverca (3-1) in the José Alvalade de Lisboa. It was to preserve him for an imminent transfer.
The left-back, who played the full 90 minutes in the first two league matches, has been linked with Milan, where coach Rúben Amorim, who gave him his first chances at Sporting, could be interested. However, from Portugal, they do not rule out that Barcelona could be behind Inácio depending on the events that may arise with Alejandro Balde and Jules Koundé.
Inácio, whose agency AS21 represents him, has a contract with Sporting until 2030 after renewing in December. His release clause is 60 million euros. His good ball control and his status as a left-back, one of the Barça's weaknesses with only Gerard Martín, make him an interesting defender.
His progress as a player has been reported in Can Barça. Since his debut in the 2020-21 season with Sporting's first team, he has played 261 official matches with 24 goals and 15 assists. In the Champions League, he has 31 appearances over four editions.
