Rosario Central has decided to fire Jorge Almirón, coach who led the team in 27 games and achieved a 61.7% effectiveness in points. Despite the good numbers, the last eliminations and a turbulent relationship with the team leaders led to the abrupt end of his cycle. The little feeling with the team leaders, expressed by Carlos Quintana, would have been decisive. The fans were already looking at him sideways, and the last eliminations had more weight than the steady performance in international play. In fact, pointed out as a specialist in mano a mano, many were waiting for the decisive instances of Libertadores (he reached the final with Lanús in 2017 and with Boca, in 2023), but it seems that there will be no time for that. Hired in January to succeed Ariel Holan, Almirón led Rosario Central in 27 games: won 15, tied five and lost seven. His team scored 36 goals (Enzo Copetti and Ángel Di María were the top scorers, with seven) and received 23. He was eliminated from the Torneo Apertura in semifinals; from the Copa Argentina, in dieciseisávos of final; got into octavos of the Copa Libertadores; and finished seventh in the Annual Table.
