A security operation involving up to 600 police officers will escort Rosario Central fans this Saturday for their match against Atlético Tucumán. The measure is a direct response to violent incidents that occurred last year during the transport of visiting supporters' buses.

Roque Yñigo, deputy chief of the Tucumán Police, confirmed the deployment. "We are very aware of this situation that happened last year to make the necessary reinforcements," he explained in an interview. The operation includes security capsule transfers, bus searches, and controls under the Tribuna Segura program.

A strict protocol

The visiting Canallas fans will arrive via provincial route 303 and be received at a border checkpoint. From there, they will be transferred directly to the Monumental stadium in a guarded convoy. Free circulation in the provincial capital and the traditional pre-match gathering are prohibited. Buses must be parked facing the highway exit from the moment they arrive at the stadium.

"What we preserve is that the rest of the citizens can exercise their rights freely and are not hindered by unwanted situations," Yñigo added. After the match, the procedure will be reversed, with custody until the caravans leave the province. Local fans are expected to remain in the stadium for a few extra minutes to ensure the safe departure of the visitors.

Sporting context

Rosario Central arrives for this fixture as the leader of the Liga Profesional Argentina, with 22 points from 12 games. Their last result was a resounding 5-0 victory over Independiente Rivadavia, extending an unbeaten run to five matches (four wins and one draw). Miguel Ángel Russo's team will look to maintain their form in a challenging environment.

The match against 10th-placed Atlético Tucumán is the next on the schedule. The recent run of results, including the 1-1 draw at Banfield and the 1-0 win over Newell's, is available in our fixtures section. The heightened security adds an extra logistical factor to a key away trip for the league leaders.
