Rosario Central had an emotional visit to Edgardo Bauza, the club's former coach, during their stay in Quito. This meeting took place ahead of their match against Independiente del Valle in the Copa Libertadores. The Canalla delegation included Ángel Di María, Marco Ruben, Jorge Broun, and Jeremías Ledesma, accompanied by president Gonzalo Belloso and vice president Carolina Cristinziano. Together, they brought jerseys, a commemorative plaque, and the Argentine Cup trophy that Bauza won with the club in 2018.

The moment was shared on Rosario Central's social media, where they expressed: “What a beautiful thing to see you again, Patón. After our arrival in Ecuador, you opened the doors of your home, and together with your family, we shared a very special moment.” This visit was not only a tribute but also a demonstration of the affection and respect the institution has for Bauza, who left an indelible mark on the club's history.

At 68 years old, Bauza resides in Ecuador and is under the care of his family, away from public life. His legacy at Rosario Central is significant, having been a champion as a player in the 1980 National Tournament and the 1986/87 First Division Tournament, in addition to his successful coaching tenure. In 2021, he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, which has affected his memory and communication abilities.

This emotional meeting highlights the importance of the bonds formed in football, where memories and respect for idols endure beyond the years. Rosario Central continues to honor its history and those who have contributed to its greatness, like Edgardo Bauza, a true icon of the club.
