Rosario Central was eliminated from the Copa Libertadores after a 1-0 loss to Corinthians at the Neo Quimica Arena. Coach Jorge Almirón admitted the sadness of the elimination, but highlighted the team's effort: 'We were never so close to advancing, we did everything'.

The match and the coach's reaction

Despite having a man advantage after Raniele's dismissal at 58', Central couldn't avoid the defeat. Almirón analyzed the lack of effectiveness: 'We had the chance to win, but we didn't have goal-scoring opportunities'. The coach also criticized the final touch: 'We lacked the last pass'.

The path to the Clausura

The Canalla will return to play on Monday, August 24, against Talleres in Córdoba, for the sixth round of the Clausura. Currently, they are second in Zone B with 10 points, two behind the leader Argentinos Juniors.
